The UBC School of Kinesiology continues to move ahead, establishing itself as a leader in a discipline devoted to the comprehensive and systematic study of human movement and its relationships to physical culture and health.
As a school within the Faculty of Education, we offer a student-centered approach to learning that emphasizes interdisciplinary studies and subject integration. Accredited by the Canadian Council of University Physical Education and Kinesiology Administrators (CCUPEKA), the School of Kinesiology looks forward to building on its reputation and providing our students with an exceptional learning environment in the study and practice of human movement.
Our undergraduate curriculum provides students the opportunity to design a program of study in one of three streams leading to a Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) degree: Kinesiology and Health Science; Physical and Health Education; or Interdisciplinary Studies in Kinesiology. Students have the opportunity to complete a co-operative educational experience aligned with the standards of the Canadian Association of Cooperative Education (CAFCE) in addition to internship opportunities through community service-learning.
The School of Kinesiology also continues to attract top students to its highly regarded graduate program where we offer studies at both the masters and doctoral level. Graduate students are mentored by some of the top teachers and researchers in the field of human movement.
We are proud to be part of a leading global university that is committed to providing an exceptional learning environment and to fostering global citizenship, a civil and sustainable society, and outstanding research.
