We invite you to take part in history as a first-aid volunteer for the inaugural Americas Masters Games from August 26th – September 4th, 2016. You will have the opportunity to work alongside renowned Sport Medicine Physicians, Physiotherapists, and Athletic Therapists.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in sport medicine, physiotherapy, athletic therapy – or if you are looking for hands-on experience with athletes in a field-of-play setting!

Volunteers will be required to assist with spectator & athlete first-aid coverage for different sporting events throughout the competition, therefore you must possess a valid first-aid certification. Licensed sport practitioners will be on-site to handle any potential severe emergencies.

You will receive an Americas Masters Games volunteer kit, exclusive medical volunteer garments, and meals will be provided during your shift. You will also receive an invitation to a special volunteer appreciation celebration at the end of the games.

Hours/time commitment
We are currently looking for volunteers to commit to full day (approx. 9AM – 5PM) shifts for various sporting events such as:
Athletics (UBC), Badminton (VCC), Basketball (Kits Beach & UBC), Cycling (UBC), Curling (Hillcrest), Field Hockey (UBC), Ice Hockey (Trout Lake Arena) , Lacrosse (Trillium Fields), Soccer (UBC/Empire Fields), Tennis (Kits Beach), Ultimate (Connaught), Volleyball (UBC & Kits Beach)Alternatively, we have evening shifts (7PM – 10PM) for the nightly celebration events at Jack Poole Plaza!
