Job description

The Physical Activity & Wellbeing Strategist is responsible for acting as a “connector” between the academic and research units of the School of Kinesiology and the broader campus community supported by the UBC Wellbeing initiative which is in turn guided by the “Okanagan Charter for Health Promoting Universities & Colleges.” With the goal of increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary behaviour, the incumbent works collaboratively with colleagues from within the School of Kinesiology – BodyWorks to UBC Wellbeing, UBC Recreation, UBC Student Wellbeing Promotion Team, UBC Human Resources, various departments on campus and neighbouring community centres. The Strategist leads, develops, implements and oversees the management of programming through the School of Kinesiology – BodyWorks Program/Fitness Centre, and other UBC campus facilities offering physical activity related programming. The incumbent will work closely with the Assistant Manager, BodyWorks Program, to create a happier, healthier campus community and a nationally recognized centre of excellence in exercise prescription
