Job description

We are looking for a student currently taking third or fourth year courses with the goal of applying to the Masters of OT or Physio program starting in September 2018, to volunteer weekly with our son.

The ideal candidate will start volunteering as soon as possible with our verbal, very fun and engaging 10 year old son, who has developmental delay and mild to moderate autism.
Tasks will primarily be focused on fine and gross motor skills, as well as physical literacy.
He has been responding wonderfully to his ABA therapy, is a fast learner and loves school & his home based sessions.

Sessions will be on a Sunday morning, 9am-12pm

We live in Dunbar, close to # 25, #2 and #7 bus routes

Successful candidates will be working under our the guidance of our Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist, and would need to be available to meet with them periodically usually on a weekday afternoon for guidance and instruction.
Candidate must be willing to commit till at least June 2018 for the above-mentioned sessions, and be serious about working regular weekly sessions, with the exception of long weekends and holidays.

Following is required:
* outgoing and fun personality
* passion for helping kids achieve the most possible
* 21 years of age, or older
* must provide two contactable references
* completely fluent in English
* previous ABA experience or work with children preferred

Hours/time commitment

Sunday mornings 9am-12 noon
