UBC Thrive Research Seminar – Nov 23

Interested in health and wellbeing research? You are invited to attend a special Thrive Research Seminar on November 23rd, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm!

Join 5 researchers, who are experts in their field, who will talk about how their research connects to the Thrive Five, the 5 pillars of health and wellbeing!

UBCKin graduate researcher, Julia McKenna (UBC-V) is working in prof. Guy Faulkner’s lab will discuss her work as it relates to the 24-hour Movement guide. Her research interests include designing and evaluating physical activity interventions, physical activity guideline dissemination and implementation, and investigating the effect of physical activity on mental health. Attend the zoom event to support a fellow Kin member and learn about her work!

The 4 other pillars of health will be covered by the following researchers:

  1. Eating Well: Dr. Tamara Cohen
  2. Moving More: Dr. Sally Stewart
  3. Giving Back and Saying Hi: Yeeun Lee
  4. Sleeping Well: Jin-Hui Wen

Each researcher will give a 7-minute presentation, followed by a 3-minute Q&A session.
