UBC’s “one-university, two-campus” model is the foundation for the partnership between UBC’s School of Kinesiology on the Vancouver campus and UBC’s School of Health and Exercise Sciences on the Okanagan campus. Together, the Schools are rated #4 in the world in sport-related subjects by QS World University Rankings.

The School of Kinesiology and School of Health and Exercise Sciences are committed to building and enhancing research partnerships across campuses.
In 2021, the Schools launched the UBCV/UBCO Collaborative Catalyst Grant Opportunity in Kinesiology, Health, and Exercise Sciences with the aim to build and strengthen collaborative research partnerships between the two campuses and Schools. The joint funding opportunity is intended to support innovative and original research initiatives that lead to novel, impactful scientific advancements and successful external funding across both sites. The primary aim of these grants is to stimulate new and meaningful collaborations between investigators.
Teaching & Learning
Co-creation of professional learning opportunities to enhance faculty and student experiences.
Together, we are strategically working to enhance linkages between our two Schools and campuses to lead educational innovation and improvement.
In 2020, the Schools launched the UBC Exercise, Kinesiology, and Health Seminar Program with the aim to expand knowledge about topics from the broad field of kinesiology and health studies for graduate students and faculty members. The virtual seminar series is a forum for both Schools for critical academic discussion.
