Abstract: The Indigenous Influences in the NHL via Hockey Cards presentation will discuss a number of Indigenous hockey players who have made it to the highest levels of hockey—the NHL—and will celebrate their careers and impacts on the game of hockey. The presentation also discusses and shares some of the barriers the players had to overcome during their lives to make it as far as they did in their hockey careers. However, much time will be spent highlighting various players accolades and contributions to the game of hockey.
Additionally, as part of the presentation, my hockey card collection available for viewing. My collection consists of every Indigenous player who has played in the NHL and has a hockey card made. At the moment, there are over 100 different players of Indigenous descent in the collection.
