Embarking on the path to graduation is a unique and personal journey, and we are here to guide you through the process of obtaining your BKIN degree. Taking an active role in meeting all the requirements is key to making this journey a success. If you are in your final year and looking forward to crossing the stage and receiving your diploma, make sure to formally apply for graduation. Don’t forget to complete all the necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition to the next chapter of your life.

There are two graduation periods at UBC – May and November. BKIN students that complete their degree requirements in the Winter session are eligible to apply for graduation each May. Students completing their degree requirements in the Summer session are eligible to apply for graduation each November. In order to graduate, you will need to submit a formal online application for graduation by the necessary deadline – normally several months prior to the graduation period.

Steps for applying to graduate, including deadlines and convocation timelines, can be found on the Student Services website. Enrolment Services will send an email to all registered 4th Year students in the month of January for potential May and November graduates. It is your responsibility to ensure that Enrolment Services has updated contact information on file.

The Kinesiology Undergraduate Society (KUS) proudly subsidizes the creation of the graduate photo composite. For inquiries and detailed information about graduation photos, including the process, timelines, and any additional details, we encourage you to reach out to the KUS. Their dedicated executive is available to assist you, ensuring you have all the necessary information to capture and preserve this significant moment in your academic journey. Your graduation photo is not just a snapshot; it’s a lasting tribute to your achievements during your time in the Kinesiology program.

Convocation ceremonies take place biannually in May and November at the prestigious Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. These ceremonies provide a meaningful and celebratory environment as you officially graduate and embark on the next chapter of your life. For comprehensive details regarding Convocation, including specific dates, registration procedures, and other essential information, we recommend visiting the Graduation at UBC website.
