Abstract: Ensuring an athlete’s health while developing their athletic performance is the primary objective of coaches and training staff. Current literature supports the significance of monitoring training load and its effect on athletic performance, however there is a paucity of inquiry into the effect on a female athlete’s resting cardiovascular function and anthropometry. Therefore, this thesis proposal seeks to identify the influence of resting cardiovascular function and anthropometry on key athletic performance measures and examine the dose–response from exercise during training and competition and its effect on resting cardiovascular function and anthropometry in healthy female collegiate soccer players. This will be a secondary analysis of data provided by the Langara women’s soccer team and will utilize simple and multivariable analysis to examine the association between resting cardiovascular function and physical performance measures. A Pearson correlation coefficient (r) and multiple regression analysis (R2) using body composition (BMI & BF%) as covariates on resting cardiovascular function and physical performance measures. The results of these assessments should provide novel insight into load-monitoring for female soccer players and its effect on their anthropometry and resting cardiovascular function.
