Title: Does Different Dose Impact Changes in Physical Literacy? An Implementation Evaluation of a Physical Literacy Program for Elementary Children
Supervisor: Dr. Guy Faulkner
Committee members: Dr. Nicola Hodges, Dr. Patti-Jean Naylor
Abstract:
This study proposes an implementation evaluation which explores the relationship between intervention dose delivered in a real-world physical literacy program and changes in physical literacy over a two-year period. Using the Physical Literacy Assessment for Youth tools (PLAYfun and PLAYself) and school checklists completed by physical literacy mentors, I will assess if there is school level variability in PL over time and explore if dose of implementation is associated with changes in PL in participating children. In doing so, it may be possible to attribute changes in PL to the program while making a novel contribution to the literature which has yet to focus on implementation outcomes in physical literacy intervention research.
