Gordie Penn was part of UBC’s return to football credibility, greatness in fact, during the late 1970s. Under the coaching of Frank Smith the Thunderbirds evolved to the point where they reached the national championship Vanier Cup in 1978.

The Vancouver Summer Program in Kinesiology welcomed the biggest cohort to date this summer, with 89 visiting International Students across three programs, Sport and Exercise Performance, Coaching Science, and Clinical Kinesiology.
Running group helps half its graduates quit smoking
Half the people who completed a 10-week community running program aimed at helping them quit smoking were successful in their attempt. Many others reduced their smoking, and saw their mental health improve.
