What do you wish you had known in first year?

Trial and error is key! Don’t know how to study? Try as many different study plans as you want until you find the right one for you. That didn’t work? Try again! I know this may seem tricky but don’t give up.

What three adjectives best describe you?

Compassionate, intuitive, reliable.

What are some activities you engage in to de-stress?

I enjoy being active so anything that gets my heart rate up is my go-to stress reliever. Listening to music, meditating, and snacking (unfortunately) are also ways I cope with stress!

Where is your favourite place to study on campus?

I love the Leon and Thea Koerner building, although it’s a bit of a walk, it’s definitely worth it. The Qualicum reading room in IKB is also a great place to study (and take a nap).

What is your favourite KIN course and why?

I know it’s the beginning of the year, but I’m really enjoying 230, Human Motor Behaviour, at the moment. I come out of every class feeling like I’ve learned material that interests me a lot.

What do you wish you had known in first year?

I wish I knew what study strategies worked best for me because I definitely could have been more productive with the time I spent “studying”. I would put hours into making a quizlet when in reality, I wasn’t absorbing any of the material.
