Sehmbi, Inderpal

Currently a Canadian Men’s U21 Field Hockey Coach and also a Physical Health Educator with the VSB, Inderpal has attended the Pan-American Games, Youth Olympics, the World Cup, the Junior World Cups twice, and the Commonwealth Games as a coach and performance analyst.

Frick’s coaching career has resulted in an outpouring of acknowledgements. A sample includes seven Canadian Coaching Association Excellence Awards, 1998 Sport BC Coach of the Year, 3M Male Coach of 2001, BC Wheelchair Sports Coach of the Millennium, Geoff Gowan Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Wheelchair Basketball Canada Hall of Fame and the Order of British Columbia.
Benjamin, Katherine

Over the last 10 years, Katherine has worked on innovation-focused projects in Canada, Malawi, the UK, and the United States for organizations like lululemon, the City of New York, the UK’s National Health Service, and the Ontario Cabinet Office.
McNiven, Brooks
Graduating year: 2016, 2018
Degree: HPCTL, MHPCTL
He is also the owner and Director of Inside Performance, an indoor baseball training centre; and has participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a member of the Canadian Men’s Baseball team. He hopes to have the opportunity to coach with the Junior National team in the coming years.

My most memorable moments at UBC seem to be balancing sports with school! I played on the Junior National Field Hockey Team in my first and second year and the Varsity Field Hockey Team for my 5 years, so I was always on the go.
Sinclair, Gary

During my BPE Studies I was inspired by Dr Max Howell, a former Australian rugby international who had just received his PhD from the U of California. He brought an enthusiasm for the academic study of PE and also accepted the responsibility for the development of the rugby program.

Recently, Jess has taken part in Vancouver Basketball Foundation’s monthly Grow The Game Women’s Roundtable events, discussing various topics with other female coaches and leaders across the province and country.
